KIKU
A Social Robot Against Loneliness

year 2021
project at University of Applied Sciences, Magdeburg-Stendal
course Master Interaction Design
SPECIAL THANKS TO Prof. Steffi HUßlein

This project was the result of group work in a speculative design workshop that explored the potentials and dangers of human-robot relationships in the present. The task was to design a social robot that could make life easier for people during the coronavirus lockdown. Kiku is an intelligent pet and is designed to help with social isolation and loneliness. It recognizes its owner's voice, analyses emotional nuances and reacts by moving its ears and making soft noises to interact with them.
